As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester Unitedare looking to get the upper hand over PSG in the race to sign one of Portugal’s rising stars.
According toFoot Mercato, PSG, Manchester City, and United have all been keeping a close eye on 17-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon.
United’s pursuit is particularly intriguing, as new manager Ruben Amorim previously coached Sporting and is eager to reunite with Quenda. The Athletic recently reported that Amorim has urged United to make a strong push for the teenager this summer.
Quenda is expected to command a fee of around €40 million (£33.4 million), and United’s new leadership appears determined to beat PSG to the highly-rated prospect.

Recently,Ben Jacobs of GIVE ME SPORT reported that Manchester United had reached a verbal agreement with Quenda and outlined the next steps between the club and Sporting.
“The player has agreed verbally personal terms,” Jacobs said. “He’s waiting to see if the clubs pre-agree [a transfer] or wait until the summer.”
However, that may not be entirely accurate.TEAMtalk has since reported that there are no agreements—verbal or otherwise—between Manchester United and Quenda or with his current club, Sporting Lisbon.
