The New England Patriots have reached a deal with free agent pass rusher Harold Landry, according to multiple reports.
Following the Tennessee Titans release of Landry on March 7, the 28-year old was free to sign with any club immediately. He now reunites with head coach Mike Vrabel, who drafted Landry back in 2018, marking New England’s first external addition this offseason.
The reported three-year is worth $43.5 million with $26 million fully guaranteed. Landry has a chance to earn a maximum value of $48 million.
During his final year in Tennessee, Landry posted a team-high 9.0 sacks which marked his third straight season with at least nine sacks. His career-high came back in 2021 where he posted 12.0 sacks which led to his first career Pro Bowl nomination and a five-year, $87 million contract extension.
Landry suffered a torn ACL the following year but returned in 2023 to post 10.5 sacks. While his sack production and play against the run has remained since the injury, some of his pass rush metrics have fallen off as his 4.8 percent pass rush win rate last season ranked 114th out of 119 qualified rushers.
Entering the offseason with major needs along the edge, Landry, who also played college at Boston College, will now join Keion White and Anfernee Jennings on New England’s roster.
