Since potential trade candidates Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby signed lucrative contract extensions, New England needed to choose a different path to address their needs. As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, the Tennessee Titans released former Pro Bowl EDGE rusher Harold Landry on Friday after spending six of his first seasons with Mike Vrabel as their head coach. Since the Titans released him, he can speak with other teams, negotiate and sign contracts before the tampering window opens on Monday. Because he spent time with Vrabel in Tennessee, many Patriots fans urged the team to reunite him with his former coach.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Patriots and Harold Landry have agreed to a multi-year contract. As Pelissero points out, the deal is for 3 years and is worth $43.5 million, $26 million fully guaranteed, and worth up to $48 million. Landry and Vrabel have reunited after one year apart.
