Buffalo Bills sign Josh Allen to record-setting contract (report)

Josh Allen was rewarded handsomely on Sunday night.

The Buffalo Bills and their star quarterback agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Buffalo through 2030, the team announced.

The details on the contract were unknown, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported it was a record-setting six-year deal worth $330 million. It also guarantees Allen $250 million — the largest guarantee to ever be given to an NFL player.

In his seventh season with Buffalo, Allen enjoyed a strong year that included throwing for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He completed 63.6% of his passes en route to a 77.3 QB rating.

Allen was named the NFL’s MVP in February for the first time in his career, narrowly beating out Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who won the award in 2023.

After the Bills lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis prior to the 2024 campaign, Allen was tasked to do more with less on the field and he was able to do just that.

Allen has led the Bills to five straight AFC East championships, but they’ve fallen short of the Super Bowl each year.

Regardless of their shortcoming, the Bills clearly have confidence in Allen to get the job done with him under center as they look to bolster their roster this offseason when free agency officially opens this week.
