The Aaron Rodgers era may be over for the New York Jets, and the remnants of their failure are finding new homes elsewhere. The latest of which comes at the receiving position.
Recently released All-Pro wideout Davante Adams signed a new two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams for over $46 million and $26 million guaranteed. NFL Network was first on the news.
During his prime, Adams was one of the best receivers in football, pairing up with league MVP Aaron Rodgers and leading the Green Bay Packers to multiple appearances in the conference championship game.
Things changed once Adams left Green Bay for the Raiders, though. After a short stint in Las Vegas, Adams rejoined Rodgers with the Jets in a midseason deal that gave the Raiders a third round pick.

During his 11-game run with the Jets, Adams caught 67 passes for over 800 yards, and seven touchdowns. Along the way, while he did help improve New York's passing offense, he did alienate New York's top pass catching target Garrett Wilson who was looking for the ball more but was given less targets once the Adams trade was made.
That left New York with a no-brainer decision this offseason. With the team opting to move on from Rodgers this offseason, Adams and his $29 million cap savings were next on the chopping block.
Now that he was able to negotiate a new deal before the start of free agency, Adams has found a new destination to play football. And it's a place he's all too familiar with.
With another aging but talented quarterback with the Rams, Los Angeles is hoping Adams joining the team will keep them in title contention for years to come.
