Jets Should Sign Former Super Bowl MVP For Edge Rusher Depth

Von Miller has been one of the best edge rushers during the 2010s and for parts of the 2020s as well. The two-time Super Bowl champion and game MVP is certainly headed to Canton once his career ends.

And that could be sooner than expected.

The Buffalo Bills announced they released Miller after a three-year run with the franchise and over 14 sacks during those years. Miller struggled at times to be a consistent edge rusher for the Bills and dealt with some off the field trouble as well.

But as he prepares to look for a new job during his 15th NFL season, there are plenty of teams in need of edge rusher depth that could use his services.

The New York Jets are one of them.

With Haason Reddick hitting free agency and many of the team's previous edge depth elsewhere, New York is looking for a veteran presence to help the likes of Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson reach their next step in stardom.

In the case of Johnson, he is still recovering from a torn Achilles, so there's no guarantee he will be healthy enough to make an impact right away for the 2025 season.

That makes someone like Miller even more important. If the Jets can bring in a veteran presence who knows how to simply rush the passer, it could solve many of their key issues from the previous season and set themselves up for success in the first year under Aaron Glenn.

Spurning a rival in the Bills wouldn't hurt either.
