Broncos sign veteran quarterback

Last offseason, veteran quarterback Jarrett Stidham was preparing to compete for the starting quarterback job for the Denver Broncos. That goal is now out of reach with Bo Nix returning as the team’s starter. But it sounds like Stidham has still decided to return to Denver regardless.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jarrett Stidham has signed a deal to return to the Denver Broncos this upcoming season.

“Source: The Broncos are bringing back their backup QB, as Jarrett Stidham is returning to Denver,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“A strong QB room with Bo Nix as the starter stays strong with Stidham back in the fold,” Rapoport said in a follow-up post.

Through his six seasons in the NFL, Stidham has completed 59.4 percent of his passes for 1,422 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. He has made four starts throughout his career and has a 1-3 record in those starts.

Obviously, with Nix returning, Stidham is not expected to compete for the starting job this offseason.

However, his return to the team will give the Broncos a strong option behind Nix.

We’ll have to see how Stidham performs in Denver.
