Manchester United winger Amad has mocked Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes after fake quotes circulated from the Gunners man targeting the Reds' strikeforce.

The Ivorian has been out of action since last month after suffering a ankle injury during a training session. At the time, it appeared that Amad's season was over but Ruben Amorim admitted after the draw against Real Sociedad in the Europa League that the forward could return before the season ends.

Despite his absence on the pitch, Amad is still showing his true allegiances to the Reds by sticking up for his teammates on social media. However, the 22-year-old appears to have potentially picked the wrong battle after sharing fake quotes from Gabriel.

In the meme, the Brazilian is seen being asked by a reporter: "Are you particularly scared of any United attackers you might face on Sunday?" To which it is claimed the centre-back replies: "I'm pretty sure I have scored more than all of them."

Such a statement was not made by Gabriel but it was deemed believable considering the centre-back has scored three goals in the Premier League this season while Rasmus Hojlund has only bagged two. Seemingly unaware that this interview was not real, Amad decided to take the opportunity to mock the 27-year-old by sharing a GIF of Joshua Zirkzee waving to the Arsenal fans after scoring the winning penalty in the FA Cup tie back in January.

Accompanied with the GIF was the caption: "Ahahah." Amad posted this after United held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes' free-kick gave United the lead before Declan Rice equalised with a well-timed strike in the second-half. The point does little to improve United's situation while for Arsenal they now seem destined not to challenge for this season's Premier League title.
