Jadon Sancho gives honest thoughts on his Chelsea form after not scoring in 16 games, ‘it’s annoying’…

Chelsea returned to the top four in the Premier League with a hard-fought win over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Marc Cucurella’s stunning second half goal gave them a narrow 1-0 win, with Enzo Maresca having to make a few changes to his side that had recently picked up a big win in the Conference League on Thursday.

One of the players to return to the starting side was Jadon Sancho, and he will have been desperate to find the net after a rough run of form in 2025.

Jadon Sancho frustrated at lack of goals for Chelsea

Chelsea fans can take solace in the fact that Sancho is far better than Raheem Sterling, a player he essentially replaced who is stuck on the bench at Arsenal.

After being handed the start against Leicester, the loanee looked bright on both sides, combining well with Enzo Fernandez in particular down the right to get into dangerous positions.

He was not able to find the net though, and as Cole Palmer’s goalless run continued, Sancho’s was only further extended.

The winger commented after the game about his run of form, sharing how annoying it is to not have scored in a while, although his confident he will be amongst the goals again soon.

He said to Chelsea’s official website: “Step by step. I know I can do better, especially in front of goal, it’s annoying not to score, but I know it’ll come. You just have to take time and be patient, but step by step. We’re very happy with the points.

“It’s a great position to be in, we want to play Champions League next year, that’s the aim, but it’s gonna be very tough. We’ve got to keep at it, 100% all of the time.”

Chelsea chiefs’ stance on Jadon Sancho

The Blues took a deadline day chance on Sancho, with Manchester United desperate to get rid of him for this season due to an ongoing rift with Erik ten Hag, who was in charge at the time.

However, it is believed Chelsea chiefs are disappointed with Sancho’s impact so far at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will be required to sign the winger on a permanent deal at the end of the season as a result of the obligation to buy him, however it will likely not stop their interest in signing a new winger.

They will also be welcoming Estevao Willian this summer after his deal was previously agreed, with there plenty of excitement over the impact he will have despite his young age.
