Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford, in a game Ruben Amorim’s side were unlucky to lose.
Ruben Amorim saw his Manchester United team put in a strong performance to show once again they can compete with the top teams in the league.
United should really have won the game, missing late opportunities, and had to settle for a 1-1 draw, that meant no change in the club’s positioning in the Premier League table.
We took a look at the winners and losers from the game…

Winners
Bruno Fernandes: Manchester United’s captain led by example, as he has done throughout the season. Bruno Fernandes scored United’s goal, netting an outstanding free-kick at the end of the first half.
Fernandes’ goal was his 12th of the season, he also has 14 assists. Fernandes should have won the game late, denied by a fantastic save from David Raya.
United’s number eight was a class act and if the team could replicate his quality and effort all over the pitch, then this club would be in a far better place.
Alejandro Garnacho: United’s best attacking moments often came through Alejandro Garnacho, who posed a threat whenever he was able to run at the Arsenal defence.

Garnacho is still searching for his first goal of 2025, but he contributed to United’s opener, winning the free-kick Bruno Fernandes scored from.
Noussair Mazraoui: Particularly in the second half, Noussair Mazraoui was a force Arsenal struggled to cope with.
Mazraoui was unlucky not to score, volleying a cross from Diogo Dalot across the goal, with Raya saving with his feet. He also could have had an assist, and this is exactly the type of attacking performance Ruben Amorim wants from wing-backs in his system.

Ayden Heaven: Manchester United signed Ayden Heaven from Arsenal in the winter transfer window, and he was given a great opportunity to play against his former club.
Heaven came off the bench at half-time for Leny Yoro, and produced a very solid performance in the draw. He did not look out of place at this level, on his first Premier League appearance.
Losers
Joshua Zirkzee: As so often, Joshua Zirkzee worked hard, but he had nothing to show for it. He is still without a Premier League goal since early December.
Zirkzee will reflect that he really should have done better with a backheeled attempt from inside the six yard box. He needs to be ruthless when he gets chances.
The summer signing has genuinely been vastly improved in recent weeks – but he should have scored this chance to put United 2-0 up.

Rasmus Hojlund: Another Manchester United striker awaiting a goal, Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench and blew a great late chance.
The Dane had an opportunity to win the game, but was not aware enough of Declan Rice chasing him down, and was tackled before he could get a shot away. His last Premier League goal was back in October.
Chido Obi: This was a tough watch for promising striker Chido Obi – who was not selected at all.
Despite this match falling between Europa League games he is not registered for, the fully rested teenager was forced to watch on from the bench, with Zirkzee and Hojlund not able to score.
This would have been an incredible opportunity for Obi to score against his former club, and Ruben Amorim should have been bolder.
