Everton only signed Carlos Alcaraz in the January transfer window.
The Toffees were restricted in their movement due to remaining PSR issues, which are set to clear by the summer.
David Moyes was eager to sign a striker, especially after injuries to Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
But, ultimately, he decided it was best to keep the club’s powder dry to free up additional funds for the next window.
Everton chiefs have been working behind the scenes to draw up a shortlist and with that said, one of their rumoured targets has just emerged in a fresh transfer report.

Everton reignite interest in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane
Everton were interested in Rangers’ Hamza Igamane during the January transfer window and some reports suggested a deal was close.
However, after it emerged that Igamane had a £25m price tag, the rumours began to die down with the Toffees settling for just one new addition.
Now, it’s just come to light, that Everton are reigniting their interest in Igamane ahead of a summer move for the Moroccan forward, according to Africa Foot.

The report adds that Sevilla and Marseille have made checks on him in recent weeks and will provide Moyes’ side with competition.
Igamane stats this season
Rangers only signed Igamane last summer but he’s already made a big impression at Ibrox, netting 13 goals in his debut campaign.
The 22-year-old, who has been called up to Morroco’s senior national team, often drops deep to link up and play make for his teammates.
That’s amplified by his six big chances created this term, according to FotMob, so he should certainly have more than his three assists.
Igamane, who his teammate Ianis Haggi says has ‘rare quality’, has also been prolific in the Europa League, scoring four goals in seven outings.
