Leading Chinese media outlets have re-established their presence in North Korea for the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19, though it remains unclear when Pyongyang will allow other news agencies to return.
The Chinese Embassy in the DPRKannounced late last month that correspondents from thePeople’s Daily newspaper andChina Media Group (CMG), the parent company ofChina Central Television and other state-owned radio and TV broadcasters, entered North Korea on Feb. 27 via the Dandong–Sinuiju border crossing.
