Millonarios FC’s Néiser Villarreal is on Newcastle United, Watford and Barcelona’s transfer agenda.
That’s according to Monday’s edition of Sport, and they mention Newcastle and Watford in a report that focuses on Barelona.
The 19-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this year and his future is set to be away from Millonarios.
In the winter market, the Colombian club agreed a €4m deal with Vasco da Gama, but the midfielder refused to join them. That’s because he and his agent are determined to make a switch to Europe.
Several clubs have shown interest in the Colombia U20 international and this includes Newcastle, Watford and FC Porto. These teams are ‘very attentive’ to his situation.
An intermediary has offered the youngster to the Spanish giants. The report states Barca, led by their sporting director, Deco, are analysing the option to sign Villarreal.
Sport state it wouldn’t cost more than €3m for the La Liga club to sign him in the summer window. Villarreal’s agent, on the other hand, prefers to wait until the end of this year so that he can join a new club on a free transfer.
The newspaper states: ‘They [agent] are in no hurry, because they are playing with the whole deck of cards.’
Barca aren’t looking at the Colombian for their first team. If they decide to sign him, the Blaugrana will face competition from Newcastle, Watford and Porto as they are all chasing Villarreal.
