Jeffrey Schlupp was a surprise transfer deadline addition at Celtic.
A surprise in the fact that despite the club looking for a left-back, Schlupp’s name just seemed to come out of the blue for Celtic fans on transfer deadline day.
The big fullback has done well in the short time he has been at the club, and Schlupp has impressed Celtic fans since his loan move from Crystal Palace at the end of the winter transfer window.
Many fans will see Schlupp as an obvious Celtic addition to the squad for next season, so when asked if the Ghanaian has a long-term future at the club, Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers admitted the 32-year-old is a perfect player for the Hoops.

Brendan Rodgers admits Jeffrey Schlupp ‘fits the bill’ for Celtic
Rodgers told BBC Radio Scotland, “I don’t know [if he will be signed permanently]. I think initially it was just to come in and adapt to our playing style and support the squad, and anything further than that we will look at later on down the line.”
“He’s a super professional. He fits the bill for us. That’s what’s always important with the players that we bring in.
“His mentality is good, he is a top professional. You see his body, you see his physicality. At 32 years of age, and that’s because he looks after himself.
“So, he’s really adapting well and I’ve obviously got Greg on the side as well, if I need to bring him in.”

Jeffrey Schlupp has made nine appearances in total for Celtic over three competitions and it’s fair to say he has proven himself to be a very shrewd signing by Brendan Rodgers.
With five appearances in the league, two against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and one of the best players on the park in Celtic’s win over Hibs in the Scottish Cup, Schlupp’s experience has proven crucial at this time of the season.

With his Crystal Palace contract up at the end of the season, adding Schlupp to the Celtic squad should be high on the list for Rodgers, especially if Greg Taylor leaves in the summer.
