If what I see on Twitter is to be believed, the Heat and their fans are not having a good time this season. Their superstar got disgruntled, basically quit on the job, then got traded away in the middle of the season. The team hasn’t been playing well and once again finds themselves on the play-in bubble. They owe the Hornets a first round pick for Terry Rozier, and he’s under investigation for sports betting things and is also playing terribly. Like, getting close to falling out of the rotation.

Before the Heat got dealt a few injuries in the back court, Rozier was starting to get fewer than 20 minutes per game. He’s shooting just 40% from the field and 30% from three for the season. He had a brutal game against the Cavs last week that went viral for how bad some of the shooting and decision making was.

But Rozier is far from the only problem the Heat have this season. The whole Heat culture thing just isn’t panning out right now. They have a couple of very good players in Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, but there’s not a whole lot more pop after them, especially with Rozier struggling the way he is. Duncan Robinson has continued to expand his game, but he’s still just a role player. Jaime Jaquez Jr. isn’t as good as people thought he was a couple months into his rookie season last year. Andrew Wiggins has had some okay games. Davion Mitchell too.

The Heat last had a winning record after a win over the 76ers on February 5th. They’ve gone 4-10 since that game. They’ve been fine defensively but have had one of the worst offenses in the league in that time.

The Hornets have had the league’s worst offense in this time. They’ll have to defend a bad Heat offense and make this a low scoring ball game to give themselves a chance to win.
