Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes explains why he supports club he hasn’t played for

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has explained why he will ‘always support’ Radomiak Radom.

Fernandes has been speaking to Viaplay in Poland and Transfery.info have relayed his comments.

The Manchester United star opened up about his close bond with Radomiak Radom’s 29-year-old midfielder Francisco Ramos.

In April 2023, Ramos suffered a serious injury and spent over 500 days on the sidelines. Transfery.info state he faced complications during the recovery and there was a risk of his leg being amputated.

Ramos regained full fitness in September 2024 and has made nine league appearances for the Polish club this season. That includes consecutive substitute appearances in the last three matches.

The Manchester United player has no direct ties to Radomiak Radom but still supports them due to his special bond with Ramos. The Portugal international constantly keeps himself updated about his compatriot and his performances.

“Francisco is one of my best friends. Not only in football, but also in life. He went through a very difficult moment in Poland when he was injured,” he said.

“The last match I saw was not the one on social media, but a 1-1 draw when they played at home. Of course, I saw Radomiak’s great victory before. When I go to training, I always call Francisco.

“My children love Francisco and his wife. These are people I have a special affection for, and I will always support Radomiak Radom, someone who plays there is special to me.”

The Polish media are pleased to know that Fernandes supports Radomiak Radom.

Prior to joining Manchester United, Fernandes had spells at Sporting, Sampdoria, Udinese and Novara.

It’s to be noted that he and Ramos haven’t played together at club level, but both had represented Portugal at the 2016 Olympics.
