'Quality': Pereira insists he now has two players at Wolves who are a 'big problem' for other…

Wolves struggled badly in the first half of the season, but the arrival of Vitor Pereira followed by a productive January has changed the picture at Molineux.

Wolves are six points clear of the relegation zone after Saturday’s draw with Everton.

It was a positive result considering Wolves didn’t have Matheus Cunha and with Everton having been in fine form under David Moyes.

The bottom three clubs all losing also validated the result.

One of the big positives of the night against Everton was that Marshall Munetsi scored his first goal for the club.

Vitor Pereira said Munetsi deserved that goal, and the Zimbabwe international certainly had a lot of chances before finally scoring.

He’s one of two players Pereira believes can now cause other clubs big problems moving forward.

It was absolutely paramount for Wolves to have a productive January.

Wolves were all over the place in the first half of the season, and reinforcements were extremely necessary.

Emmanuel Agbadou arrived first at Wolves, and has seriously impressed. Munetsi came in on deadline day, along with Nasser Djiga.

Agbadou and Munetsi look like they’ll make more of impact in the present for Wolves, with Djiga perhaps to be used more sparingly.

After the draw with Everton, Pereira talked up Agbadou and Munetsi, insisting that both have given Wolves a greater threat from set-pieces.

He said: “They came to help. They are players that have added quality because they are physically strong and to compete in this league, we need to compete against this kind of team.

"It feels good. It's been coming. The coach and the players have always had that faith in me to keep on pushing to score."

“When we look for the set pieces, when we look for a corner, every time it is a big problem to stop them, and we need this physicality.

“I also like the speed of the players on the bench. They went onto the pitch to help the team, and thanks to our supporters because they tried to help us a lot.”

Munetsi and Agbadou are the new Lemina and Dawson for Wolves

Both Munetsi and Agbadou look to be really positive additions for Wolves – especially the latter.

It’s been a bit tricky for Munetsi because he’s had to play out of position. Pereira has admitted Munetsi needs to control himself in order to help Wolves press better, and hopefully that will come the more he plays this advanced role he’s been playing.

But he has certainly added energy and physicality – and he’s also had plenty of chances. And we saw against Everton how he almost scored twice from Wolves corners.

Agbadou looks like one of the very best signings Wolves have made in years.

Two years ago, Wolves used the mid-season window to sign Craig Dawson and Mario Lemina, who both made big impacts and helped Wolves to stave off relegation under Julen Lopetegui.

There are certainly parallels between Dawson and Lemina, and Agbadou and Munetsi, with the new pair making a quick impact and adding physicality and a competitive edge.
