Aston Villa have the chance to progress to the last eight of the Champions League on Wednesday night when they host Club Brugge with a two-goal lead.
Unai Emery's side won 3-1 in Belgium last Tuesday after two late goals at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Leon Bailey put Villa ahead early on, before Maxim De Cuyper levelled the game up in the 12th minute. But an own goal by Brandon Mechele and a penalty from Marco Asensio meant Villa returned to Birmingham with a strong lead.
Villa were without Emi Martinez and Asensio for their trip to Brentford on Saturday, while Ross Barkley and Amadou Onana remained sidelined. Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia won't be available as they have not been included in the Champions League squad.
Here is the latest on the injury front...
Emi Martinez
The goalkeeper was dealing a small injury before Villa's trip to the Gtech Community Stadium and wasn't risked as a result.
“They were not feeling good yesterday,” Emery said of Martinez and Asensio on Saturday. ”They had some muscle pain. Not really important because we still tested them, but they weren't available. We decided to avoid risk with both players. Hopefully both can recover for Wednesday.”
Possible return date: Club Brugge (H) - Wednesday, March 12
Marco Asensio
Asensio scored what could be a decisive penalty against Brugge last week. Emery will give an update on the Spaniard in Tuesday's press conference after suffering with a minor injury at the back end of last week.
Possible return date: Club Brugge (H) - Wednesday, March 12
Amadou Onana
Onana returned to full training at Bodymoor Heath last week, but was not included in the squad to face Brentford.
Possible return date: Club Brugge (H) - Wednesday, March 12
Ross Barkley
Barkley has been absent since the start of January after dealing with a knee ligament injury. It is not yet clear whether he will return to the squad on Wednesday night, but he will be hoping to enjoy a run of games after the March international beak.
Possible return date: Preston (A) - Sunday, March 30
