Ex-Man Utd ace's one-word reaction to Bruno Fernandes' impact vs Arsenal speaks volumes, his verdict is so clear

Former Real Madrid and France star Raphael Varane dropped a telling reaction after Bruno Fernandes’ stunning performance for Manchester United against Arsenal.

The Red Devils hosted the Gunners at Old Trafford on Sunday evening and Manchester United and Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Bruno Fernandes was the difference-maker before half-time and the 30-year-old United captain made his impact felt for the Red Devils in first-half injury time.

The United and Portugal midfielder stepped up for a free-kick and Fernandes smashed a sensational strike past Arsenal No 1 David Raya to put his side 1-0 up.

Despite Fernandes’ first-half opener, United were unable to hold their lead against Arsenal and the Gunners climbed back into the contest after the break.

Declan Rice found the all-important equaliser against the Red Devils in the second half and United and Arsenal walked away with a Premier League point a piece.

What Raphael Varane thought of Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd performance vs Arsenal

Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have only managed nine league wins from 28 matches in the 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils are level on points with 13th-place Tottenham and United are one Premier League point clear of Everton and West Ham in the table.

United are 15 points adrift from the top four and their best hope of securing Champions League football for next season relies on their Europa League campaign.

Ruben Amorim’s men are 17 points above the relegation zone and now have breathing room for the remainder of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Former United defender Raphael Varane took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and reacted to Bruno Fernandes’ impact for United on Sunday.

Varane, who is close pals with the Portugal midfielder, retweeted Fernandes’ free-kick against Arsenal and posted the United star’s name alongside a fire emoji.

Ruben Amorim’s biggest complement for Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes after Arsenal draw

United manager Ruben Amorim spoke out on Fernandes after the match at Old Trafford and admitted that the Red Devils could do with a lot “more Brunos.”

“I think any coach when he wants to bring players, he expects the best, but sometimes they have to adapt and sometimes you have luck with the character of the player or not,” he said at his press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“Even with all the investigation that all the coaches do before signing players. What I can say is that we need more Brunos. That is clear.

“Not just the quality, the character, not some mistakes, but the character that he has, the availability in this league, is so important and he’s so decisive with the ball and without the ball.”

United will now be in action against Real Sociedad on Thursday evening in the Europa League, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time at Old Trafford.
