Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has offered his support to in-demand Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez after his recent display. The Hungarian full-back played a key part in the Cherries' 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur despite Ange Postecoglou's side mounting a second-half comeback to deny a win for the visitors.

The 21-year-old continues to attract attention after impressing during his development in the Premier League. On Sunday, he produced a superb assist for Marcus Tavernier's opener after intercepting a Spurs attack before bursting down the wing and delivering a cross from deep.

With Liverpool's ties with Bournemouth, following Richard Hughes' move from the south coast to Merseyside in the summer, links have emerged over Kerkez's quality and a possible cross-Premier League swap.

Kerkez posted to social media in light of his display in North London and among those sharing support was the Liverpool midfielder who is a close friend. Kerkez's international teammate Szoboszlai replied with a heart and clapping emoji on Instagram - with the comments section flooded with messages from Liverpool supporters.

The Reds have faced speculation over their full-back position with the future of Kostas Tsimikas appearing unclear while Andy Robertson came in for criticism this season after uncharacteristic mistakes. Kerkez has been dubbed one of the possible options to reinforce that department after it was the new Liverpool sporting director that brought him to the Premier League.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed there is concrete interest from the Reds. He said via GiveMeSport: "It’s not something guaranteed or agreed at this stage, it’s still early; but Liverpool want to bring in a new left-back in the summer as well as a centre-back and Kerkez is one of three main names on the shortlist already approved by Arne Slot.

"Contacts are expected to follow and continue in the next months; Liverpool’s interest is genuine and concrete, as the 'world-class' Kerkez is attracted by Champions League football for his future and there’s a chance to make the deal happen this summer. Now we wait for the next weeks to understand when and how the contacts will continue."
