**Krzysztof Piatek joined AC Milan and seemed destined for greatness – a true goalscorer with a trademark celebration as he burst onto the scene. However, things did not turn out how one may have hoped.**
In fact, it could not be further from the truth. Piatek arrived as one of Milan’s most expensive signings in a January mercato, and the initial start was fantastic. However, [**things slowed quickly**](https://sempremilan.com/piateks-story-since-leaving-milan).
The weight of being the Rossoneri’s starlet became too much, and the gem became a struggling forward – a trend which continued after his exit. However, the club did not lose too much money on the Polish man, selling him to Hertha Berlin for €24 million.
Speaking to Meczyki.pl, Piatek revealed some of the details about a potential move to Real Madrid, and [Milan Press](https://www.milanpress.it/ex-milan-piatek-real-madrid-parole/) have relayed his words.
“Now I can reveal the details. There was a situation where, if I continued to score at AC Milan for the second year, Real Madrid would find me or Luka Jovic. I know that scouts were watching me and gathering information about me at AC Milan. I had a meeting with the directors, Leonardo and Maldini.
“They were a bit angry with me that my entourage was trying to talk to Real and raise the issue. They thought it was inappropriate because I was already playing at a big club like Milan. I pulled out because I didn’t know anything about it.
“I knew there was some interest, but it was a proverbial 50/50: either they want him or they don’t.”
It’s rather funny how Milan had both Jovic and Piatek, yet bore the fruits from neither. That is the way of life though.
