Arsenal are leading the race to sign 26 year old midfielder this summer. The player is also linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid who too have openings in midfield department.
Gunners are keen to sign new midfielders this summer. They are said to bring in atleast two new faces as both Jorginho and Thomas Partey are set to leave as free agents. They have been linked with multiple big names across whole Europe.
One of the name constantly linked with a move to North London is Martin Zubimendi. Gunners tried to sign him last summer but the deal failed. The Spaniard were unwilling to leave Spain and hence he opted to stay at Real Sociedad.
Zubimendi is now said to be open to move away from Sociedad this summer. He is still looked upon by Arsenal who are now in desperate need of new midfielder. Gunners have good relation with Sociedad with them signing Mikel Merino last summer.
This time Gunners are joined by Real Madrid and Manchester United in the race. Madrid are looking for replacement of Toni Kross whereas Luka Modric may also leave this summer. On the other hand, United want to replace both Casemiro and Eriksen this summer.
Arsenal still leading the race to sign Zubimendi
TEAMtalk have reported that Man United are not willing to sign Zubimendi in summer. In addition, Real Madrid are also unlikely to land the Spaniard as they are focused to improve their defence. This will come as a massive boots for Gunners.

Zubimendi is 26 years old and has developed as key player for both club and country. He plays a major role for Real Sociedad and the club is aware of that. Hence, they will demand his release clause to be paid fully this summer. He can be signed for €60 million.
