Liverpool return to Adidas with new a multi-year deal

Adidas will become the new kit manufacturer for Liverpool FC next season as part of a new multi-year agreement.

The Athletic’s James Pearce revealed that Liverpool stand to make a “significant increase” from its current deal with Nike, which is set to expire on 1 August.

Currently, Liverpool receive £30m per season from the Nike deal, gaining 20% from royalty fees from all net sales of club merchandise, which sees the potential figure per-year rise to upwards of £60m.

While Liverpool will ultimately play preseason friendly fixtures in the current Nike kit this summer, Adidas will manufacture kits for the Premier League club for the first time since 2012.

Liverpool and Adidas held kit manufacturing deals between 1985-1996 and 2006-2012. Between 2012-2015, the club had a deal with Warrior and then New Balance from 2015-2020.

Billy Hogan, CEO of Liverpool, said: “Everyone at the club is incredibly excited to welcome Adidas back into the LFC family. We have enjoyed fantastic success together in the past and created some of the most iconic LFC kits of all time.

“Adidas and Liverpool share an ambition of success and we couldn’t be more excited to partner together again as we look forward to creating more incredible kits to help drive on-pitch performance. We’d like to thank Nike for their support over the last five years and wish them well for the future.”

Under the terms of the new agreement, from 1 August 2025 onwards, Adidas will create three first team men’s and women’s kits, along with supplying the club with training kits and apparel for Liverpool’s men’s, women’s and academy teams.

The club confirmed that details of the new Adidas Liverpool kits – home and away – will be revealed via club and Adidas channels and available to purchase from August 1.

Adidas Chief Executive, Bjorn Gulden, commented: “We are extremely excited that Adidas and Liverpool Football Club are teaming up once again.

“The club is one of the biggest and most iconic names in world football with a huge fan base. The jerseys worn during previous partnerships are some of the greatest ever created. We are looking forward to creating more classics for the fans.”
