Everton confirmed Kevin Thelwell’s exit from the club last week as the Director of Football leaves after three years in the role.
Thelwell will have mixed opinions on his time at Everton, as fans can sympathise with the extremely difficult job the Toffees chief had.
Everton thanked Thelwell for his service as the club plans to transition from the Director of Football role with the Friedkin Group making major off-field changes.
With this considered, the likelihood of Dan Ashworth joining Everton now looks out of the picture.
As he looks like the final person to take on this role for a long time at Everton, Thelwell has made an announcement.

Kevin Thelwell makes major announcement at Everton after exit
It can’t be denied that Thelwell does deserve some form of respect after the tricky tenure he’s had to take on over the last three years.
The most recent observation of this is Thelwell handing David Moyes a bargain in Carlos Alcaraz.
With his time now at an end, Thelwell has made the announcement out in the open, summing up his time with the Merseyside club.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
In what was a long, classy statement from the former DoF via the Association of Sporting Directors, Thelwell summed up his time at Everton.
“I would like to thank David (Moyes) and his coaching team for an excellent job so far,” Thelwell said.
“Thank you to the dedicated staff at Finch Farm who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to keep the Wheels turning, and to TFG who we all hope will take the club back to where it belongs!
“The unstinting backing for the players and staff at Goodison, and on the road has been humbling and amazing to see every week. I am eternally grateful to have seen and felt your support and passion.
“Thank you again for that support, and best wishes for the future. Kev.”

Abdoulaye Doucoure reacts to Kevin Thelwell Everton statement
Someone else who is a classy act around the club is Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has been a brilliant servant to Everton over the years.
In an uncertain future, Doucoure won’t have a contract extension at Everton as an entirely new contract could be issued.
This will develop as Thelwell might have been involved in the decision before he left, but the 32-year-old midfielder has still sent a brilliant response to Thelwell’s exit message.
Replying to the statement on X, Doucoure said: “Thanks a lot Kev for your dedication and support! You’ve been a big part of this club staying up during his most difficult time.
“I enjoyed working with you and wish all the best in the future!”
This shows the type of character Doucoure is, as now Everton will have to move on with life without Thelwell.
