Paul Scholes has admitted that he found one Manchester United star “a little bit disappointing” after Ruben Amorim’s men were in action against Arsenal.
Manchester United hosted Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday evening and the Red Devils and the Gunners played out a 1-1 draw in the Premier League.
Bruno Fernandes made a real impact in the first half after his injury-time free-kick beat Arsenal No 1 David Raya and put United 1-0 up ahead of half-time.
However, Arsenal rallied back in the second half and Declan Rice cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ first-half opener with a crucial equaliser against United.
United and Arsenal shared the points at Old Trafford and the Red Devils put in a superb display, with Ruben Amorim’s men coming close to snatching all three points.

Paul Scholes makes eye-opening Joshua Zirkzee admission after Man Utd draw
Joshua Zirkzee was deployed as the sole striker against Arsenal after Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim dropped Rasmus Hojlund to the bench.
The 23-year-old Dutch forward lasted 76 minutes in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford before Amorim withdrew him and replaced him with Rasmus Hojlund.

Joshua Zirkzee has been praised for his link-up play in his debut season at United, but the Netherlands striker has faced criticism over his goalscoring output.
Signed from Serie A side Bologna last summer, the United star has only scored three times in 28 Premier League matches for the Red Devils in the 2024-25 campaign.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Paul Scholes claimed that he is “not really sure” what Zirkzee “brings to the team” after his performance against Arsenal.
“Both teams are in desperate need of a striker,” he said, as per the Metro.
“Zirkzee I thought was a little bit disappointing today. I’m not sure [if] he’s a number nine or a number 10.
“I’m not really sure what Zirkzee brings to the team. Rasmus Hojlund is obviously still having his issues but both teams are crying out for attacking players.”

Ruben Amorim reveals what he wants to see from Man Utd players
Speaking after the draw with Arsenal, Amorim insisted that he wants to see his United players adopting a winning mentality amid their disappointing season.
“I really enjoy it because it’s not just that we focus on the result, in this moment,” he said at his post-match press conference.
“I want to see different things so I really enjoy the players wanting to win the game and not taking the point, no matter what the context.
“We need to win, especially at home, and that is good. I knew, if we can handle the first half of the game without suffering a goal, in the second half we can create more.”
United will now turn their attention back to the Europa League for Thursday’s second-leg round-of-16 tie against La Liga side Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
