Arsenal agree transfer fee to land Nigerian striker this summer

Arsenal have agreed transfer fee to sign Nigerian striker this summer. The player was close to join Premier League last season but the deals failed. But, he is very likely to fulfill his desire this summer.

The star in question here is Victor Osimhen of Napoli. He was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer. The Blues tried really hard to land him until the last hour of deadline day. But, the deal failed due to transfer fee and wage demands.

Osimhen was already out of Antonie Conte’s plans. He had already opted to sign Romelu Lukaku who was given the role as main striker. This resulted in Osimhen moving away on loan to Turkish club Galatasaray.

Osimhen is not willing to continue at Galatasary beyond this season. He is once again linked with a move to Premier League with Man United and Arsenal showing interest. Chelsea have dropped their interest as they are focused on other options.

Arsenal agree on transfer fee for Victor Osimhen

According to Daily Trust, Gunners have agreed a £62 million transfer fee to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Earlier, Caught Offside also reported that the North London club are planning to open talks with Osimhen’s agent.

Osimhen can be a great addition to Arsenal squad. He will directly get into the starting lineup over Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. He is still 26 years old and hence can offer many years at top level for the North London club.

This season Osimhen has been unstoppable for Galatasaray. He has played 29 games for the Turkish club and has registered 23 goals along with 5 assists. He is main striker for Nigeria national team and is expected to have similar role under Mikel Arteta.

Gunners do have other options in the market with Sesko being their top target. They also have Isak on their radar but he will cost as high as £150 million. Hence, Sesko or Osimhen are very likely to end at The Emirates this summer.
