'Frankly': Yet another PSG player speaks out about Anfield and shares how squad are feeling ahead of UCL clash

Liverpool’s quest for European glory continues as they play host to Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their last-16 tie.

Alisson saved Liverpool’s blushes at the Parc des Princes in the first leg, with Liverpool somehow walking away with a 1-0 win on the night.

The French side dominated the majority of the game, which has left PSG players feeling confident ahead of their trip to Anfield – with Desire Doue believing PSG will do something ‘special’ in the second leg.

Doue though hasn’t been the only Paris star to back their chances, with defender Lucas Hernandez also revealing his confidence ahead of Tuesday evening’s tie.

Lucas Hernandez claims PSG are ‘very confident’ ahead of Liverpool visit

Luis Enrique’s side have been one of the most inform sides in Europe this season – scoring an impressive 70 goals in 25 Ligue 1 games so far.

With this in mind, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has backed PSG to score at Anfield – a sense of confidence Hernandez was keen to echo after his side’s 4-1 win over Rennes last weekend.

“We are very confident. We played a good match in the first leg. We are aware of that,” the defender told RMC Sports.

“Today, we played another good match. Everyone is confident, wants this match to happen, hoping to qualify of course.

“Everyone wants to qualify; it’s an objective. We know that it’s not going to be easy, it’s never easy to play at Anfield. But, we have great players, a great group, a superb team. Frankly, we are in a very good dynamic and we hope to do what is necessary at Anfield.”

PSG’s Champions League away record may give Liverpool confidence

Having dominated the first leg, it is no surprise that the Parisians are feeling confident ahead of their trip to Merseyside.

PSG’s confidence though may cost them at Anfield – especially if you take a look at recent away record in the Champions League.

The French giants have actually won their last three European away days – but if you were to take a closer look at those games, you would realise that they were no big test.

PSG’s last five Champions League away results

Arsenal – 01 October 2024 2-0 (L)

Bayern Munich – 26 November 2024 1-0 (L)

Salzburg – 10 December 2024 3-0 (W)

Stuttgart – 29 January 2025 4-1 (W)

Brest – 11 February 2025 3-0 (W)

The last two times PSG faced a trip to a ‘big’ European club, they have lost on both occasions to Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

So, with Anfield being a fortress on European nights – it begs the question as to whether PSG can actually overcome a Champions League giant away from home.
