West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus says there is “a lot more to come” from him following an underwhelming second season at the London Stadium.
The Ghanaian international has failed to kick on from last campaign, and, speaking to the club’s website, Kudus said he is keen to improve:
“I’ve been below the standards I’ve set for myself. With the standards I’ve set and what I’ve shown, I think everyone also expects a lot from me, but I expect a lot from myself as well.”

“I’ll keep doing my thing and keep trying until the last game of the season. I know a lot of things haven’t gone well this season. It’s football; there are a lot of ups and downs, but you need to be yourself at all times.”
“I’ve set very high expectations of myself, even more than what the fans and others think, and I know the input and impact I can have in a game. I wouldn’t say it’s been my best season, but as a team, we’re at a stage right now where we are building and growing. The most important thing for me is to keep going and keep believing in myself, and doing my thing. There’s a lot more to come from me.”
The West Ham forward’s end product has been poor
It’s admirable that Kudus is willing to admit that he hasn’t performed anywhere close to his best this season. His numbers speak for themselves.
The 24-year-old has only scored 3 times in all competitions, having also provided just 2 assists. It is not as though he has been sidelined for many games either.
Kudus has started all 22 league matches he has been available for, having missed five fixtures as a result of his ban for his red card against Tottenham.
Kudus is still attracting interest from Premier League rivals
Despite his problems, reports have linked the winger with moves to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle in recent months.
Kudus does have a release clause which will become active in the summer but it is unlikely that anyone will match the £85m fee required to trigger it.
