Is Bukayo Saka Still Injured?–When Will Arsenal’s Key Attacker Return?

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been out with a hamstring injury since December.

The Gunners have missed having Saka on the wing due to his ability to both create chances and score goals himself. Before suffering his injury in December, Saka scored five goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League.

He remains the second-highest assister in the league behind just Mo Salah, despite not playing since Christmas time.

The England international had to be taken off during the Gunners’ 5-1 win against Crystal Palace just before Christmas. He has been recovering since and is getting close to a return for Mikel Arteta‘s side.

His fellow winger Gabriel Martinelli had a similar injury, and managed to return early against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, but does this mean Saka could be back soon?

When will Saka return?

Initially, it looked for a long period of time that Saka wouldn’t come back before the next international break which comes later in March.

The 23-year-old probably won’t be picked by Thomas Tuchel for the squad despite the fact that he could become fit during the break or before.

The game against Fulham on April 1st is almost a certainty for Saka to return, but there is a possibility that he could come back before the break which would be a huge clash against London rivals Chelsea on March 16th.

He would likely only feature as a substitute if needed, but seeing as Saka’s progress looks to be going well, the game against Chelsea looks more and more likely.

Do Arsenal have other injuries?

Arsenal have three players that are also out injured, and all three are out for the rest of the season. Takehiro Tomiyasu underwent his second bit of surgery on his knee this season last month which ruled him out until next year.

Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are also out until next season after they both suffered injuries this side of the new year. Jesus underwent surgery on his ACL and Havertz had surgery on his hamstring in February.
