Fabrizio Romano gives update on Antoine Semenyo with Newcastle United linked with summer bid

A high priority for Newcastle United this summer is to finally address the right-wing issue with the club selling Miguel Almiron in January, leaving just Jacob Murphy as a recognised right-sided forward.

Newcastle's lack of quality on that flank has been an issue since the PIF-backed takeover was green-lit but Eddie Howe has managed to do the impossible with what he already had at his disposal.

However, it's not lost on anybody that if Newcastle truly want to disrupt the order of things, they will need a right winger of a similar quality as Anthony Gordon is on the left.

There's no shortage of players on Paul Mitchell's radar, one of which is Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo who is attracting interest from several top clubs after a stellar season with the Cherries.

Dean Huijsen should be the one we look to sign from Bournemouth

Bournemouth are going to be inundated with offers for their biggest players

Newcastle seem destined to raid Eddie Howe's old club this summer with Semenyo joined by the likes of Dean Huijsen and Illiya Zabarnyi also catching the Magpies' eye, but Fabrizio Romano has now outlined a big problem that Newcastle will face if they are to act this summer via Give Me Sport.

"[Milos] Kerkez, [Dean] Huijsen, Semenyo... many Bournemouth players are attracting interest, but I don't think they will sell 3–4 players. Semenyo has chances to go as interest is there, but it's not something guaranteed now, as the club will try to fight to keep him."

It's not just Newcastle who are planning to raid Bournemouth this summer with Andoni Iraola getting some amazing results from his charges this campaign.

We suspect Newcastle will only make a move for one Bournemouth player

We highly doubt that Newcastle would be looking to sign more than one player from Bournemouth this summer, but which of the three we're looking at we choose to focus on remains to be seen.

But with other clubs also eyeing Bournemouth's top performers, Newcastle will have to act fast to liberate the target they want before the Cherries are forced to slam the door to prevent anyone else leaving.

For us, we'd say we have better winger options than Semenyo, so if we're going to take anyone from Bournemouth, we should be looking at Dean Huijsen. We missed out on him last summer and Bournemouth have proved that he has what it takes to be a Premier League player. Time to activate that £50 million release clause.
