The Spurs traveled to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves after a loss to the Sacramento Kings. What followed was a wire-to-wire shooting clinic, mostly by the T-Wolves. Despite being down only eight after the first and second quarters each, the Spurs could not cut the deficit further as they allowed Minnesota to shoot 21 of 42 from three. They ultimately lost 141-124.
De’Aaron Fox led the way with 22 points, three assists, and two rebounds. After several inefficient shooting nights, D-Fox shot 8 for 12 from the field and four for six from three. It’s possible he get could get season-ending surgery on his finger before the team’s road trip to LA next Monday.
Ball-smoovement! Great ball movement results in a D-Fox three in the corner!
Tear-drop! D-Fox drives into the paint and finishes with a tear-drop shot over Rudy Gobert!
Float game! After the Chris Paul steal, D-Fox finishes with a floater over Jaden McDaniels and Anthony Edwards!
Stephon Castle dropped another 20-piece off the bench with seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Despite several solid performances, Steph is still coming off the bench. It seems the only way he starts again this season is if D-Fox gets finger surgery.
BULLY BALL! Steph outmuscles Naz Reid on the drive to the paint and finishes with a two-handed slam!
Devin Vassell dropped 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block. Dev drained three threes, including this laser in the third!
Keldon Johnson dropped 13 rebounds, four rebounds, and two assists. KJ and D-Fox run the pick and roll for the two-handed KJ slam!
Bismack Biyombo dropped 10 points on perfect 5 for 5 shooting and four rebounds. He and D-Fox run the pick and roll and Bismack jumps like he’s a rookie again for the lob slam!
Blake Wesley fooled Rudy Gobert by throwing the ball of his back and getting an easy bunny!
After hanging tough for a half, it’s hard to win against a team who is shooting 50% from three. While team tank is happy, you have to wonder how the rotation will change if D-Fox is out for the season. Hopefully, Steph Castle will be a starter, and the vets (CP3 and Harrison Barnes) will get less minutes.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the injury-riddled Dallas Mavericks tonight at 7:30 P.M. (CST) on KENS5.
