After trading for former Miami Heat shooting guard Jimmy Butler, the Golden State Warriors have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they continue to climb the standings after what was a disappointing start to the season.
The face of the Warriors, and likely the entire NBA after the inevitable retirement of LeBron James, has turned back the clock and is playing some of the best basketball of his career.
However, Curry now has a lot more on his plate, according to one prominent league insider.
“Warriors’ Stephen Curry has accepted a role with his alma mater Davidson College as assistant general manager for the basketball programs, university officials told ESPN. Curry becomes the first active player in U.S. major pro sports to take an administrative job with NCAA team,” reported ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Legit not ready for when Steph, LeBron & KD are done… Awesome for Steph, but hate he’s so close to retirement,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Interesting. I’m surprised he can do that while still playing in the NBA,” one fan added.
“Hopefully this doesn’t mean he’s about to retire. All jokes aside I’m not ready for the Old Guard to step away yet,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Curry does in his new role.
