Many believe Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders' draft stock has taken a sizable hit following the 2025 NFL combine in Indianapolis.
Multiple reports emerged following the event stating that several NFL coaches and executives had concerns about Sanders' temperament, and one anonymous quarterbacks coach seemingly directly attacked his character.
"I am disappointed to hear that a quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top 7 referred to Shedeur Sanders as coming off ‘brash' and ‘arrogant' in his team interview and making his assessment known to a number of people, per source," NFL insider Josina Anderson reported.
And while those views of Sanders seemed to be limited to a small group of people-the consensus among most coaches who interviewed Sanders at the combine was a positive one-the handful of negative reports have seemed to have dropped Sanders from being in contention for the No. 1 overall pick to casting doubts about him going in the top 10.
One person who took the Sanders slander quite personally is Colorado senior quality control analyst Warren Sapp. During a recent appearance on "Thee Pregame Show," Sapp made it known that whoever made those disparaging remarks should expect some form of comeuppance.
"We're talking about a quarterback coach who's not a decision-maker, wants to make that call about our quarterback," Sapp said. "I've been working for the last 48 hours to get his name. If I get his name, oh buddy, we going to do a deep dive into his life. He's going to wish he never [mentioned Sanders' name]. If you're not a decision-maker, shut up."
Sapp isn't the only one noticeably upset with what's been said about the 23-year-old QB in the media. Sanders himself even took a shot at those reporting on his allegedly plummeting draft stock.
"Well, everybody trying to make my stock drop right now…but it is what it is - it's fools' gold, it ain't real," Sanders said. "Don't believe (the) media."
