The 2025 NFL Draft is just over a month away. The NFL Combine has concluded, and now the focus shifts to the pro days for several college football teams, which provide the last opportunity for players to showcase their skills before the draft.
One key question remains unanswered: who will be this class's top quarterback? NFL.com's Bucky Brooks ranks the quarterbacks as follows: Colorado Buffaloes' Shedeur Sanders, Miami Hurricanes' Cam Ward and Ole Miss Rebels' Jaxson Dart.
In his two-year career at the FBS level, Sanders threw for 7,364 yards, completed 64 touchdown passes, and achieved a record 71.8% completion percentage. Ward, during his three years at the FBS level, recorded 11,281 yards, 87 touchdowns, and a 66% completion percentage. Dart has a four-season total of 11,970 passing yards, 81 touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 65.2%.
Kurt Warner, the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, joined "The Joel Klatt Show" and confidently named his pick for the top quarterback in the class.
"Cam has a little extra," Warner said. "He's got a little uniqueness with his ability to throw the football. I think that's what catapults him to the top of the class."
Warner mentioned that when he compares Ward's performance to that of other top quarterbacks like Sanders and Dart, he doesn't see a significant difference in their decision-making or timing when throwing the ball. He believes that Ward possesses a uniqueness when it comes to throwing. Warner feels that Ward puts a bit more power behind his passes and has the ability to throw effectively from different positions.
That's ultimately why he believes that Ward is the best quarterback in the draft and should be selected as such when the draft starts on April 24.
