Liverpool are 15 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table
Liverpool's quest to win the Premier League title moved a step closer at the weekend thanks to results both at Anfield and elsewhere. The Reds claimed a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday to move 16 points clear of Arsenal, who are second and had two games in hand at the time.
A little over 24 hours later, Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, meaning the gap is now 15 points, with Liverpool having played one game more. The Reds will be in Carabao Cup final action next weekend while the Gunners face Chelsea in the Premier League, after which point both clubs will have played the same number of matches.
There are just nine Premier League matches left to play for Liverpool this season, as Arne Slot looks to guide the Reds to the league title in his first season. While the title is far from mathematically completed, some fans will be understandably looking forward to the day that Liverpool could be officially crowned Premier League champions.

Liverpool are not back in top-flight action again until April 2 when they host Everton in the Merseyside derby. It's not long after that when, in theory, the Reds could officially clinch the league title.
The earliest day that Liverpool can win their 20th league title is on April 12, when they will face Fulham. This scenario will only happen if the Reds beat Everton and the Cottagers, and Arsenal lose their next three matches against Chelsea, Fulham and Everton and fail to beat Brentford.
It's also possible that Liverpool could win the league against Tottenham Hotspur on April 27. For this to happen, Arsenal must lose to Chelsea and then match the same results as the Reds across the following four matches.
A potential outcome is for Liverpool to win the title when they face Chelsea across the weekend of May 3, their fourth from last game of the season. This scenario will happen if Arsenal beat Chelsea on Sunday and then match the Reds' results for the next six matches.
Liverpool could also, in theory, win the title on the same day that they face Arsenal in the Premier League on May 10 or 11. For this to happen, the Reds would have to be seven points clear following the clash at Anfield against the Gunners.
