Ex-Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Makes Admission Amid Latest Non-Football Venture

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski continues to find more unique ventures amid his post-football playing career.

Gronkowski, 35, recently joined the Drive auto industry podcast with Ford CEO Jim Farley, and Gronkowski also recently partnered with US Steel for a $400,000 project to improve the weight room at his alma mater, Woodland Hills High School, per Tom Davidson of TribLive.

Gronkowski's football career took off at the Williamsville, New York, school before a solid college career at Arizona before the Patriots selected him with a second-round draft pick in 2010.

Gronkowski also discussed memories with Farley in the podcast, which debuted on Wednesday. The four-time Super Bowl champion admitted he is "a big Ford guy."

"My family, we're all Ford guys and my mom is a Ford mom," Gronkowski told Farley.

Gronkowski's mother, Diane Walters, had five sports-oriented boys to drive around during their childhood. All made it to professional sports - four in the NFL (Rob, Chris, Dan, and Glenn) and one in professional baseball (Gordie Jr.).

Rob Gronkowski also noted that his father, Gordon, has owned Fords for years. The former Patriots star said he first had a 2000 Ford Explorer.

"I loved the car," Gronk said. "I was one of the coolest guys."

Gronkowski was one of the most dominant players on the Patriots' football team from 2010 to 2018. He made 521 catches for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns, helping the team win three Super Bowls.

Gronkowski retired in 2019 but returned to the NFL for two more seasons with the Tampa Buccaneers in 2020, where he won another Super Bowl before retiring in 2022.
