The Alabama Crimson Tide has to be one of the best programs that one can go to so that one's NFL dreams feel closer. More than being a great football player, some stars go out of the system having learned quite interesting talents. Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, for instance, developed an ear for a certain accent.
Bryce Young was raised in California and got recruited out of Mater Dei High School. So, there was an adjustment period for when he first entered the Alabama football program. The country accent was something that he got to understand due to his teammates, coaching staff, and even some fans.
The Panthers signal-caller even noted that he could understand Xavier Legette, via Off The Edge.
"I've gotten better. I honestly felt like at first it was just me. But, like, I think going to Bama, we had a couple of guys -- I'm not going to lie; he's the most egregious -- but we had a couple of guys that were close. So I've gotten better in it," the former Alabama star said.
Legette and Young have developed quite a connection on the field because of this skill. The Panthers wide receiver was able to catch 49 passes and produce 467 yards alongside four touchdowns in just his first season.
However, Young admits that he often still has lapses when it comes to understanding the Panthers' weapon.
"Just yesterday I seen him, and it was like a little loud where we were at, and it was dark. So I'm like, ‘All right, bro, I'm not going to lie, man. Like, I can't. Like, normally I do better, I know. I'm not going to lie: We can't have a conversation," he declared.
It's great to see that the Alabama alum learned something from Tuscaloosa off the field that he still uses with the Panthers.
