Angus Kinnear is set to become Everton CEO, although doubts have now emerged over his impending move from Leeds United.
The Toffees are facing a summer of change as David Moyes prepares to lead the club into Bramley-Moore Dock.
Everton have officially announced that Kinnear will become the club’s new CEO, effective from 1 June 2025 after Moyes rubberstamped the Leeds chief’s move to Merseyside.
Meanwhile, Kevin Thelwell will depart Everton as The Friedkin Group oversee major changes behind the scenes. However, it appears as though there are some doubts about these upcoming changes.

The Friedkins’ acquisition of Kinnear at Everton is seen as a “major move”. However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – isn’t entirely convinced about the appointment.
“I think people had to be replaced at Everton,” King said.
“For the last few years, things have not been right. Ever since David Harrison left the club, things have not been functioning correctly on or off the pitch. The recruitment has been very average considering the amount of money that has been spent.
“We’re going to see how Moyes works and how thorough he is about bringing in new players, which is a positive. However, I’m not sure about Kinnear. Leeds got promoted from the Championship with Kinnear and these allies he is going to bring, but they also got relegated.

“Therefore, it will be interesting to see how he does. I hope it works. However, I’m not entirely convinced he is the right man for the job, so we will have to wait and see.”

Kinnear will face big pressure at Everton
There will be a lot of expectation among Everton supporters as the club move into a new stadium under a new regime, particularly after the disappointment of the past few years.
Therefore, there is going to be a lot of pressure on Kinnear and his allies to produce results in his new position at the club.
As a result, hopefully from Everton’s point of view, Kinnear can handle this pressure.
