Ex-Ohio State QB Justin Fields Sends Clear Message Amid NFL Free Agency Rumors

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields has been mentioned in plenty of NFL free agency rumors. Yet, the former Ohio State Buckeyes star does not appear concerned based on his latest Instagram post.

Fields continues to be mentioned as a potential option to remain with the Steelers. Pittsburgh has also been linked to re-signing Russell Wilson or potentially pursuing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

As NFL free agency kicks off on Monday, Fields appears unconcerned. The former Buckeyes quarterback posted a photo from Dubai to his Instagram Story.

Fields' post also showed a picture of a beautiful latte as well as the quarterback rings in free agency with a cup of coffee. All this to say, it does not appear that Fields will be personally meeting with teams.

Fans can still expect Fields' agent to be hard at work finding a new deal for the signal-caller. The Jets continue to be mentioned as a potential landing spot if Fields leaves the Steelers. According to The Athletic's Robert May, Fields may end up deciding between the Steelers and Jets.

"I think the Jets make sense on that front," May explained in a May 5, episode of "The Football Show." "I feel like trying to get him at a reasonable cost, see what you have there based on where they are in their trajectory, that makes perfect sense to me.

"I do think there are people who would be excited to have him back in Pittsburgh. Given their potential alternatives, I think he has fans in that building."

Buckeyes fans will be watching NFL free agency with anticipation to see if Fields can land another starting job. Fields won back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year awards in 2019 and 2020 but has struggled to solidify himself as a permanent NFL starting quarterback.
