Kai Havertz has shared a fresh five-word injury update on social media after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury last month that will keep him out for the rest of Arsenal's season.
The German international sustained the injury on the Gunners' warm weather training camp in Dubai last month, in a bitter blow to Arsenal's Premier League title chances.
Havertz has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season, operating as a makeshift striker in Gabriel Jesus' absence. News of his injury coincided with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli's respective stints on the sidelines, leaving Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling and teenager Ethan Nwaneri as the only options in attack for Mikel Arteta.
Taking to Instagram, Havertz shared a series of images with his leg in a brace and on crutches after surgery last month, captioning the pictures: "Valuable time with the family."
The versatile German midfielder has already given fans an update on the social media platform after the operation last month but appeared to be in good spirits in his latest update.
Speaking last month after surgery, Havertz said: "The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win.
"Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped. I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background."
When asked about how Havertz sustained his injury last month, Arteta revealed: "He was going to stop a shot after a set-piece and stretched the leg and he felt his hamstring.
"We were having a great camp in Dubai, recharging, training, having some time off and connecting again with nature and a different environment. And then the injury happened in a very unexpected way, certainly. So it's a big blow, obviously, because of the injuries that we have."
The Gunners boss believes the injury to Havertz was an accident waiting to happen given the amount of game time players have been forced to play in recent seasons.
"We've had players who are injured who've played 130 games in the last two seasons so it's an accident waiting to happen when you continue to load, load and load," said Arteta.
"The intensity is at a different level and the demands in terms of minutes in this competitive environment is getting higher and higher and it's a consequence of that. The amount of muscle and tendon injuries is higher than ever so there's a relationship.
"We're very limited and we're training less than ever. There's no time for training."
