Troy Deeney tips David Moyes to be ‘Manager of the Season’ purely for one key change he’s made…

Troy Deeney does come out with some extraordinary claims at times but this one is certainly a new one.

Everton fans will want to listen in, as Manager of the Season shouts surrounding David Moyes have emerged.

It would certainly be a hard feat to achieve, considering he came into the post in January, but you can’t knock what the Scotsman has done for the club once again.

Records seems to be getting broken each week by the Toffees boss as Moyes’ Everton are now eight unbeaten in the Premier League.

Whether that’s enough for Manager of the Season should be debated, but this other reason could shed light as to why Deeney has made this claim.

Troy Deeney tips David Moyes to win ‘Manager of the Season’ at Everton

As mentioned before, Deeney doesn’t shy away from controversial takes, and this is certainly one of them.

Arne Slot has done an excellent job with Liverpool, and the likes of Andoni Iraola have shocked everyone after Bournemouth’s triumph in the league this season.

But Deeney only has eyes for Moyes and has highlighted Beto’s transformation at Everton as the main factor as to why.

“He’s got Beto scoring, so he needs to really be looking at manager of the season,” Deeney said.

“Beto hasn’t scored in years!

“He does (looks like a proper Premier League striker).”

The only way Moyes could’ve won manager of the season for Everton

It’s highly likely that this will not happen as Moyes has only been in the job for just under two months.

If the decision does somehow happen, there will no doubt be uproar from a selection of Premier League fanbases.

But Moyes could’ve had the chance at the award if the Friedkin Group decided on sacking Sean Dyche earlier.

Moyes’ work in a short amount of time has been nothing short of a miracle, so imagine what he could’ve done had he joined earlier.

Jordan Pickford said Moyes is better tactically, and those tactics could have Everton laughing in the Premier League next season, then, you can say the Scotsman is within a shout.
