Steelers Kicker Suggests Position Change With Metcalf and Pickens

When the Pittsburgh Steelers traded for former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, and he would be paired with fellow wide receiver George Pickens, Steelers' placekicker Chris Boswell had a cost-cutting idea for the Steelers front office.

After the trade was announced it also surfaced the team extended Metcalf's contract by $150 million over five years. He will remain a member of the Steelers for the next six years. He will average $30 million per season once the extension kicks in next season.

Boswell took to social media and advertised the fact he can play quarterback for the Steelers as long as Pickens and Metcalf are both on the field. He figures, in a jocular manner, he should be able to play quarterback and find one of them on any given play.

The kicker was one of the Steelers who commented after the trade was cemented, but it was probably the most hilarious.

"I got this. GP ajnd DK down there somewhere," Boswell said with two laughing emojis. He then showed a picture of himself in uniform looking like a quarterback.

Perhaps it would be such a good idea for Boswell to play quarterback. The last time he attempted a pass, he suffered a concussion. Maybe he should just stick to placekicking.

The Steelers have the receivers, but they don't have an arm to get them there. Boswell might be the only experienced passer they have on the team. The Steelers will be looking to sign either Justin Fields or Sam Darnold in free agency. Veterans such as Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones could fall into a second tier of quarterbacks they would look to sign if the first two did not work out.
