Anthony Davis' Injury Status for Mavericks vs Spurs

The Dallas Mavericks have lost five consecutive games and seven of their last eight as the franchise continues to crumble. The Mavericks have had a disastrous year, from trading away Luka Doncic to Kyrie Irving suffering a season-ending injury, as that franchise deserves a spark of good fortune.

The Mavericks are traveling to face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night, but their injury concerns are still carrying over. With an ultra-depleted roster, the Mavericks need all the help they can get but will continue to be extremely shorthanded on Monday in San Antonio.

The Mavericks will still be without All-NBA big man Anthony Davis due to a left adductor strain.

Davis suffered the injury in his Mavericks debut after 31 minutes of fantastic basketball and has been sidelined since. In that debut game, Davis dropped 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks, but has missed the last 12 games after hope seemed to be restored.

Davis received a recent injury update saying that he is "improving daily" and has been cleared for "more dynamic on-court movements," but it would not surprise anyone if the Mavericks shut him down for the rest of the season.

The Mavericks had eight players sidelined in their loss to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, so heading into the second leg of a back-to-back will likely not be friendly for them. The Spurs have a prime opportunity to pick up a win over the shorthanded Mavericks, even without superstar center Victor Wembanyama holding it down.
