The 2025 NFL Season is a potential rebound year for the Miami Dolphins and their high-powered offense. The Dolphins saw some significant injuries from several key players, including wide receiver Braxton Berrios.
He was a pass-catcher who was trying to fit in with one of the most explosive passing offenses in the league. The offense, however, seemed to revolve around Tyreek Hill, Jaylon Waddle, and tight end Johnnu Smith as the key weapons for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
At 29 years old, Berrios is trying to show that he still has the potential to be a reliable, versatile weapon in the league. On Monday, Mar. 10, an ESPN NFL insider reported that Berrios has signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Houston Texans.
Berrios spent the last two seasons with the Dolphins after spending his first five years with the New England Patriots and New York Jets.
In his first season with Miami in 2023, Berrios played 16 games while he caught 27 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown. He was a much more productive return specialist, as he returned 18 kickoffs for 441 yards, as well as 23 punts for 235 yards.
This past season was a difficult one for Miami as the injuries to the offense, team offensive stability, and an ACL tear six games into the season made it difficult for Berrios.
Berrios will be 30 years old in October, which means he doesn't have a lot of time to make many plays due to his breakout speed and athleticism. He can be a solid weapon for the Texans' offense, led by C.J. Stroud, especially when the team suffered injuries at the receiver position.
