Eagles free agent defensive tackle Milton Williams is still exploring his options.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Williams is closing in on a deal with the [Carolina Panthers](https://Carolina Panthers "https://Carolina Panthers"), but no agreement has been made. Williams is also in talks with the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings, according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations. The person requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
“We’re on the phone with the Cardinals right now,” the person said.
Williams, one of the top free agents available, could make upwards to $20 million per year. He did not have contract talks with Philadelphia this offseason, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media on Friday.
In his final season (2024) with the Eagles, Williams developed into one of the best players on Philadelphia’s defense. He amassed five sacks and 24 tackles during the regular season and stripped sacked Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the Eagles' Super Bowl victory at Caesars Superdome last month.
The Eagles drafted Williams in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. Over the last four years, he has developed into a productive interior pass rusher, amassing 11.5 career sacks.
