Graham Potter has named his West Ham playing eleven to take on Newcastle in the Premier League at home on 10 March.

The Hammers must capitalise on their home advantage and exploit Newcastle’s current vulnerabilities.

Under Potter’s management, the Hammers have shown signs of resurgence, securing consecutive clean-sheet victories against Arsenal and Leicester.

Lucas Paqueta left out of the playing eleven

Leaving Lucas Paqueta out of his playing eleven appears to be a blunder that could prove costly for the Englishman.

He is capable of turning the game around within the blink of an eye and he appears to read the game better than most players.

His ability to play centrally and out wide gives the side much-needed fluidity – which might be key in breaking down a resolute Newcastle side.

However, the game can still be won and the key will be maintaining this defensive solidity while leveraging their attacking options.

Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus should target Newcastle’s depleted defence which is missing key players like Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and the suspended Anthony Gordon, by exploiting wide channels and stretching the backline.

Tomas Soucek’s aerial presence will be vital at set-pieces, especially after his goal in the 2-0 win over Newcastle earlier this season.

London Stadium will be buzzing for West Ham v Newcastle

The Irons must start aggressively, pressing high to disrupt Newcastle’s rhythm, as the Magpies have been inconsistent, losing two of their last three matches across all competitions.

Their focus might also be split with the upcoming EFL Cup final against Liverpool.

West Ham’s next four games.

By controlling possession and forcing Newcastle into a low block, the hosts can create openings for quick transitions, where Bowen’s pace and Kudus’s flair can punish gaps left by Eddie Howe’s injury-hit squad.

The London Stadium faithful will also play their role in cheering their team on.

It’s going to be an exciting game on Monday night and hopefully the home fans can begin their week on the right note.
