Lucknow: The state cabinet on Monday cleared the allocation of 0.80 hectares of land for establishing a Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS) facility in Lucknow.

Valued at Rs 94.19 lakh, the land for DTIS has been given to Advanced Materials Defence Testing Foundation (AMDTF) for free of cost.

The AMDTF is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) comprising five companies: Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Yantra India Limited (YIL), and PTC Industries Limited.

DTIS facility will function as a centralised testing centre for defence units operating within the Defence Corridor Lucknow node, enabling them to examine and certify their products. The certification protocol is anticipated to enhance the market potential of these products both domestically and internationally. The facility will also create new employment opportunities for the local populace.
