Arsenal target to be available at cut price

Arsenal face Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday night.

The Gunners cruised to a 7-1 win over their Dutch opponents in Eindhoven last week, all-but-securing their place in the quarter-finals.

Despite their huge advantage going into the second leg, manager Mikel Arteta will still expect his side to produce a professional display at The Emirates.

Arsenal will once again be without forwards Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for the visit of PSV.

Mikel Merino could once again be used as a makeshift striker in their absence, although Gabriel Martinelli may instead be deployed centrally.

This summer the Gunners are set to be on the hunt for a new striker, and it appears that one of their top targets could be available at a bargain price.

According to TBR Football, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs that are being updated on the availability of Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has attracted interest from several clubs

It is claimed that the Gunners, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all monitoring the striker’s situation, and the Premier League sides believe he could be available for less than £30 million this summer.

The 25-year-old is in the final 18 months of his current contract with the Old Lady, and the club have so far been unable to reach an agreement over a new deal.

The report claims that Juventus are therefore willing to sell the player for around £25 million this summer, despite splashing out more than £67 million to land the striker in 2022.

Vlahovic has scored 55 goals in 135 matches for Juventus across all competitions since joining from fellow Italian side Fiorentina, but the report suggests that he is increasingly likely to depart Turin when the transfer window reopens this summer.
