OKC Thunder Make Roster Move Before Denver Nuggets Game

On Monday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Denver Nuggets on NBATV in what could very realistically be a preview of the Western Conference Finals. The two leading MVP candidates, Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, will face off, and in an effort to get a leg up in the contest, the Thunder have increased their depth, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Before tipoff, OKC announced that wing/forward Dillon Jones, the 26th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has been recalled from the G League.

"The Oklahoma City Thunder has recalled forward Dillon Jones from the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League," Thunder PR announced on Monday.

Jones has played 38 NBA games for the Thunder, mostly in garbage time, and has averaged 2.2 points and two rebounds. He is one of the more physical young players in the NBA and has a lot of potential, although the Thunder's depth has prevented him from playing meaningful basketball in any large capacity.

Jones missed the earlier two games between the Thunder and Nuggets, although in the season opener, he recorded a single rebound and missed his only shot against Denver. It's possible that he won't play in tonight's contest, although his defensive capabilities make him a solid weapon to have in a close game, especially if injuries pile up for OKC.
