NFL free agency kicks off on March 10, and many players are already predicted to play for different teams in 2025.
The Denver Broncos are expected to address different positions in free agency, and there is one specific area the team is expected to keep in mind.
The 33rd Team sees the Broncos going after a new running back - Dallas Cowboys' Rico Dowdle. The soon-to-be free agent is seen as a "good mid-tier" running back and won't cost too much for Denver to sign.
The Sean Payton-led team will have $40 million in cap space, and a small piece of that could go to Dowdle.
The 26-year-old is coming off a breakthrough season for the Cowboys. He logged 1,079 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 235 carries.
The 33rd Team predicted the Broncos will move on from current starter Javonte Williams, but having Dowdle alongside Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime in the backfield will provide a nice balance.
The outlet also claimed Dowdle is a zone-based runner but can use his explosiveness to get through a shaky Broncos offensive line. In 2024, he averaged 3.28 yards after contact per carry, ranking 15th among all other running backs.
Another pro for Denver going after the USC product is that it gives the franchise time to seek a top-tier running back while addressing other needy positions.
Dallas has not yet said if they plan to bring back Dowdle for another year. Should he not return, the Cowboys' running back room will consist of Deuce Vaughn and Malik Davis ahead of free agency.
